Hi all,

I think I've solved the problem now. They asked me to try and
isolate the problem by unplugging the DVR expander. This stopped the
freezing and rebooting at the expense of all my recorded shows.
Couldn't transfer many over to my other Tivo or computer as this
would cause a freeze and reboot. I let it run the whole week and it
didn't reboot at all though I had some pixelation and loss of sound
for couple of secs during an episode of House last week.

Tivo directed me to Western Digital to get drive replaced so I'm now
waiting for a new drive. Hopefully this will be the problem and
there is no issue with the Tivo HD as well. I did look at some
reviews for the DVR expander and some people complained that they got
pixelation all the time and when they removed the DVR expander the
pixelation stopped. This was with a non Tivo box so it Tom, the
issue may be your DVR expander.

Will keep you updated once the new DVR expander is in and running for
a few weeks.

Regards,

Jay
