We're moving in two weeks from a house that has Gigabit Ethernet cabling
throughout the house and a full-featured central wiring closet to one that
has none of this.

In our family room, where we'll put our flatscreen and TiVo HD, there's no
phone jack and no Ethernet port.

I THINK I can get a USB WiFi adapter for the TiVo HD (Comcast version with
cablecard), but I don't know if it needs an analog telephone line as well.

Can it talk to the TiVo servers just over the internet?

I'm considering buying a TiVo premier and a smaller flatscreen for the
bedroom. Can those two devices share programming? In other words, can I
start watching a recorded show or movie downloaded from amazon or netflix on
the flatscreen in the family room, then finish it in the bedroom? If both
TiVos have WiFi connections, is 802.11g fast enough? Does either of the
TiVos ever need a phone line?

Can I get the TiVos on Ethernet using PowerLine adapters? Is that technology
ready for prime time or is it a nest of worms?

Any warnings or suggestions much appreciated.
