OK. I noticed that when I log in to tmda-ofmipd with PLAIN or LOGIN as '[EMAIL PROTECTED]', it works fine.
But when I log in as just 'jesse' (not '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'), it fails. Frankly, I'm not surprised (or bothered) by this. In fact, it's expected. Programs have to be written with vpopmail in mind to make IP-based vpopmail domains work. But consider this: I use '-p 0.0.0.0' when I run tmda-ofmipd so that users can log into any of my IP alias domains, not just the FQDN of the machine. I also use '-R imap' or '-R imaps' for authentication. And since I DO use imap for authentication, and since my IMAP server is Courier-IMAP, my IMAP server DOES support IP-based domains. So, can anyone think of a quick way to get tmda-ofmipd to access the IMAP server on the host from which tmda-ofmipd was just called?? That was a tricky sentence. Let me break it down: If I log into tmda-ofmipd on host 'my-domain.com', but 'my-domain.com' is really an IP alias on the machine 'primary-domain.com', can I somehow get tmda-ofmipd to try authenticating to the IMAP server on 'my-domain.com' rather than 'primary-domain.com' automatically? This would effectively give me IP-based vpopmail virtual domain support in tmda-ofmipd. And that would be cool. Any ideas?
