It's different when the response appears to be coming from Postmaster, or a machine email address. But when the message appears to be coming from me (i.e. it's using some form of address that is identifiable with me) I'd like to continue to see the advocacy as an option. And FWIW, as far as I can tell, the only people who will get automated messages back from my postfix are people who are allowed to use my mailserver. Anyone who tries to send email to my machine to a non-existant account (for example), will get an error from their MTA, not mine. My MTA will reject it during the SMTP transaction. Additionally, my MTA is not configured to allow relaying so, unless I'm forgetting something, no one else will get any auto responses from my postfix. >It clearly indicates that the message is >machine generated and not a personal reply, which is a good thing. The from address on TMDA generated email is a form of my email address. In fact, I believe it includes my full name. I don't think it's fair to assume an endorsement of a product just because I use it. And don't be confused by this. If you enforced all of this stuff, it would not change *my* behvior at all. I'd still continue to advocate TMDA and I'd still want it to use my name. (I want the email confirmation request to appear, at first glance, to have come from me. I explain in the text that it's machine generated. I even include that it's generated by TMDA and provide a link to the web page.) I just think that advocacy needs to remain an option. $.02. - Mark _____________________________________________ tmda-users mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) http://tmda.net/lists/listinfo/tmda-users
