I've been following TMDA for quite a while now, I believe I have a fairly good understanding of how TMDA works based on having control of the mail server. What I havn't been able to understand though is how TMDA works when you don't have control of the the mail server.
I have a linux server which also downloads e-mail for my accounts, my brothers and my parents accounts from three different providers, i.e.: mindspring.com, gte.net and earthlink.net (which owns mindspring). Now I can install TMDA on my server and I feel comfortable installing and configuring the software on my end, but how do I get the providers to play friendly with TMDA on my systems? For instance, if I use dated, sender or keyword addresses against my account on mindspring, how will mindspring know that [EMAIL PROTECTED] is me when mindspring only knows me as smotrs?
