True, though there are many (e.g, Hotmail) that do provide valid
information.

I'm not so sure.  In the past 2 months, smtp-check-sender has dropped
over 3000 bogus spam messages (that's just my own personal mail, not
system wide).  If I hadn't been using this script, more resources
would have been used to send an auto-reply, and process the resulting
bounce that the bogus address would have sent back.
