Absolute beginner question

Hi,   I’m a total newbie and would like to know how to set up TMDA on a virtual server I’m not running directly (i.e. it resides in a hosting provider).   Do I need root permissions? (I don’t have them) If I do, next questions still apply since I’m considering moving to a co-located server.   Are there any guides available for “dummies” (I know how to deal with command lines and I’ve worked with UNIX-like systems in the past, but I’m not an expert whatsoever).   Thanks in advance for any help   Pablo
