From: "Ronald F. Guilmette" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Please do your homework and find out what actual existing common practice is with respect to e-mail and automatically-generated e-mail messages before you go off half-cocked, relying _only_ on the published RFCs, and then write some software product that generates automated responses which, although perfectly consistant with the minimal requirements of the RFCs, is nontheless perfectly INCONSISTANT with the majority of actual practice.
You're being awefully vituperative about the entire issue, I think if you could just calm down for a minute you'd be more likely to get some useful response, assuming that's your goal. (though admittably some other people have been slinging napalm as well) So far you've brought up one issue that was debateable, one that was possible a concern but probably easily remedied, and one that just needed a configuration change, I hardly think that's cause to start a holy war. What's the real problem you're trying to solve? In my experiece Jason and Tim tend to be knowledgeable, levelheaded and helpful, yelling at them isn't likely to produce faster results. Given that this is an open source package, have you considering contributing a patch to fix the issues you have complaints about?
