Because I suspect that something has changed regarding how tofmipd
forks, which is something that could be looked into when messing with
PID's.  They seem very closely related.

You would think so, but I had 0.59's tofmipd working fine under
svscan, but 0.79's tofmipd won't (for me), even with the -f flag.

Personally, I like svscan, but I do not know what is upsetting it in
tofmipd.

If I get a chance, I'll play with it more.  FWIW, fghack did not fix
it.
