It was always nice, when I would get a full body massage twice a month, to notice new feelings in new places on my body.  I do believe it helped with my recovering.  I'm unable to do the costly massage, but I have started doing Anodyne Therapy myself at home everyday for about 3 hours.

Hi there,

It was me that was told by my doc that there wouldn't be major improvements after a couple of years.  I know there have been a lot of others on this site who have told me otherwise.  I'm so glad to know there is still some improvement after a number of years.  I had asked him that question as I wanted to know what he thought as the specialist.  I do agree with the rest of you though that improvements however small surprise us all.  I told him at the visit that I wiggle my toes on my left foot (the one that feels no hot or cold) and I can actually tell that I am wiggling them.  Also I touched the bottom of that same foot while drying them one day and realized that there is a patch there that feels 'normal'.  I don't know if I had just never felt that before or if it was something new.  There is always hope for which I am thankful.

Someone mentioned being told they wouldn't have major improvements after a couple of years. I "met" TM personally 10 years ago, and since that time have not been able to feel cold or pain in my right foot (there are myriad other residual symptoms, just mentioning this one right now). I can feel touch, pressure, tingling there. But the other day I accidentally stepped on a small piece of ice and it registered as COLD! I actually had to look at my feet and think, "Wait a minute....is it this foot or the other one?" LOL!
