Nima, D1- D10 takes up almost all of the Dorsal, or Thoracic, spinal cord. D1 is at the base of the neck and D10 is just above the ends of the scapulae (wings). The thinning is of the part of the spinal cord closest to the skin of the back. intrinsic hyperintensity means that there is inflammation in the inside of the spinal cord.
