I am not sure about cymbalta, but I do know that small amounts of
antidepressants work very well for pain management.

No, it is not all in our heads.

One thing that I have found helpful for the pain/burning/tingling in my
feet, (which I am glad others understand) is magnesium - whether in the form
of Epsom salts baths, or magnesium citrate - it just helps a little, to take
the edge off. I still sometimes resort to percodan.

Subject: [TMIC] cymbalta question

Greettings,
I had my nuero appt last week and and my goal was see if I can get anything
for my pain/burning/tingling feet and to get something to help me sleep. (I
haven't slept in a month). He wouldn't give me any "sleeping pills" but he
gave me cymbalta to help with the pain. I had tried it once before and quit
cuz it either made me sick or week or both - I don't remember. (along with
Nuerontin/lyrica and 11 other meds I've tried)
I've taken it 3 times - only at night - and it has done squat for the pain.
Question - is this a drug that needs a few weeks to kick in?
Also - I've seen on tv that cymbalta is used for depression. why aere we
taking a med for depression for pain? Are they trying to tell us the pain
is
all in our heads?
