I too was paralyzed from the waist down and today I use a walker to get around. I can only tell you that I have experienced all kinds of sensations in my legs. I never know when I wake up in the morning just how my legs are going to feel. Sometimes lying down is more uncomfortable then sitting up. Unfortunately that is indicative of TM. Burning sensations, banding (when you legs feel like someone has wrapped them too tight!!), numbness, tingling etc. I was wondering if you have been given any drugs at all? I have tried many,  some have helped some have not. We are all so different in our reactions to meds. I was on 2400mgs. of Neurontin. Then we tried Cymbalta which did not help the pain and I also tried Lyrica which did not seem to hep me. The problem is you have to be on a drug quite awhile to asses it's reaction to your specific problems. So my neuro put me on Neurontin and Lyrica. I'm still not sure if it's right for me... but I"m giving it a try... You have fortunately found a great group of people here to help in whatever way possible.  Take care.... hang in there.... keep a good sense of humor, work hard and do your exercises!!  :)

Todd and Rogette.....I have had a lot of leg swelling since I started the Lyrica. I was taking 150mg 2XD and I am now up to 300mg 2XD.  It still does not completely control the pain. Today I asked my neurologist about switching back to the Effexor. He agreed to switch me back. I had taken Effexor before after Lenora from the TMIC list said it had helped her. I switched to the Lyrica when it first came out hoping it would be the answer. I think all in all the Effexor worked better. I would be interested in hearing about others experience with Lyrica and Effexor....Cody in Austin

Yes this is part of TM.  I use Lyrica twice a day and Nortriptyline once at night time.  It doesn't stop it completely, but it does help a lot.
I never got to go to a pain clinic where they could really know what medications to give me.  That would be a great place to start.

Have any of you experienced this and is this medication for it?
