Cindy, I didn't realize there were so many of us out there with this
"challenge" - and yes, I remember in the 70's being put totally under and
staying overnight to have tumor removed. The last few I had removed - and this
was a real ouchie - the doctor gave me 12 shots around my nipple (not kidding)
folded my skin back and went for the tumor. Then you don't have 50 scars on
your boobies. You are smart to be very careful since your mom has had breast
cancer. Keep getting those mamos.
Take care
Linda

Linda, I had my first large breast tumor (benign) removed when I was in my
late 20ies. If not for tumors and cysts I would have had NO boobs at all LOL.
I get checked every year and other than the early tumors - back in the ages
(1970 or so) when everything put you in the hospital and they actually kept you
overnight --all I still have is the cysts. Thank goodness. My mom has had
breast cancer so I'm pretty careful.

Hi Pam, thank you for your dear note. I am on Imuran, I am told for a
life-time, and I was aware of the side effects - also have Sjogrens and it has
pretty much the same side-effects all on its own. My arm is healing, thank you.
Interesting that you say you have to have your mam and ultrasound - I have
exactly the same problem. Had my first breast TUMOR when I was only 20 - thank
goodness it was benign. The last count on my mamo was over 50 cysts - how
embarrassing. Dr said she has seen worse, but not many. I also have the
ultrasound after the mam. The doctor does the ultra sound herself and is very
honest with me. So far, so good. Mostly they look for change. I'd better make
my appt - it's been over a year. Shame on me. Now I'm wondering about the
Imuran, since I had the cancer in my arm. I also had a close cousin who died of
breast cancer that went to her bones, very aggressive, she passed at age 44.
Please let us know how it goes. I will definitely include you in my prayers.
Hugs
Linda

DEAR LINDA, I AM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE ARM CANCER. I HAVE TO HAVE MY
MAM AND ULTRASOUND ON WED. I HAVE FIBROSISTIC BREAST DISEASE. 2 OF MY COUSINS
DIED VERY YOUNG THE CYSTS TURNED MALIGNANT. IF THEY WOULD OF KEPT UP WITH THEIR
MAMS AND ECHOS THEY COULD OF BEEN SAVED.
MY DOCTOR LAST WEEK FELT A FEW SMALL LUMPS WHICH I ALSO FELT. I AM NOT
REAL WORRIED I SOMETIMES DO 2 MAMS A YEAR AND HAVE HAD CYSTS REMOVED. MY
BIGGEST WORRY IS THE DRUG IMURAN TO SUPRESS MY IMUNAN SYSTEM CAN CAUSE CANCER
AND MELANOMA. I HAVE A FEW SPOTS AND MOLES THAT I NOW HAVE TO HAVE SEEN BY A
DERMATOLOGIST. ONE DRUG HELPS SOMETHING AND CAN CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS.
I AM OFF THE IMURAN. I KNOW AND HOPE ALL GOES WELL WITH YOU. ITS SCARY
BUT WE WILL SURVIVE THESE OBSTACLES. I WILL SAY A PRAYER FOR YOU.
BEST WISHES PAM
FRANK, MY RECLINER IS GIVING ME TROUBLE ALSO WITH THE HANDLE. WE ARE
LOOKING INTO THE ONE THAT VIBRATES AND DOES THE MASSAGE. I AM IN PT NOW AT HOME
SO MY INSURANCE WILL PAY ALMOST EVERYTHING.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THERE IS NO PRETTY STUDENT NURSE TO WAIT ON
YOU?????????????????? LOL TAKE CARE PAM
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
