At this point I am willing to try just about anything to help her. She
has come so far in her recovery and I don't want her to have to deal
with a nuisance like this.

Subject: Re: [TMIC] TM question- fungal infection

This might seem far fetched, however, it might be of help to your
daughter. Our local newspaper carries a sindicated column by Dr Peter
Gott MDthat has carried several letters from people regarding their
success in using Vics VaporRub on various fungal infections with amazing
and immediate results. Infections have included psriosis, toe nail
infections, split heels, and skin splits on the hand. Of course,
dematologists have scoffed at their patients success stories, but I
think it's worth a try.

Question for all of you. I just got back from the Orthotist, with my
daughter, Ashlee, and was just told that my daughter may have a "fungus"
of some sort in her AFO. Have any of you ever dealt with this before???
She has a rash on each side of her leg where the brace touches her. She
took them off on Friday night and didn't put them back on until today to
go to school and I could still see the outline of her brace (from the
rash). They want me to take her to a dermatologist but our local
facilities are scheduling 6-8 weeks out. I am contemplating calling her
family physician to see what he thinks but thought I would check on here
first. The Orthotist took the brace from her and is sending away to have
the straps and padding replaced in hopes that he can rid the fungus that
way.
