My husband was just telling me that he saw where people could order
nonperishable food online, but I can't remember where. I'll have to ask him.

One other thought -- this comes to mind because we have a lot of college
students in our church who need jobs that can work around their class
schedules
-- what about advertising at a local high school or college for a student to
get groceries? I'd have no idea what to offer for that. One college here has
an office that can be called for students to do yard work, housecleaning, odd
jobs, etc. -- getting groceries would qualify as an odd job, I think. :)

Another idea might be to ask a friend or neighbor if they'd pick up a few
things for you when they go. You probably couldn't ask them to get a whole
week's worth of groceries, but they might not mind getting a few things. I
know
we don't want to "bug" people, and if it were me there are some people I
wouldn't venture to ask. But there are others that would do that kind of thing
in
a flash if I needed help, and would refuse any gas money I offered. I'd do
the same for them.

Hi everybody --- for those of you who do not have big grocery stores that
deliver in your city, call around to all the fruit stores, small corner
grocery stores and places like that. You'll be surprised at how many will
deliver for $5 or something like that... and many are free. Until we got a
big place where I could order my groceries on the internet for delivery, I
used to use a fruit store down the street. They didn't have meat, but they
had some frozen foods, lots of produce, breads, canned goods, etc. It was
fine. We're supposed to be eating more produce anyway, right?? But some
local butchers also probably deliver, so just call around.

take care -- Michelle
