One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Cathi standing in the foyer
of the church staring up at a large plaque. It was covered with names with
small American
flags mounted on either side of it.
The seven year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the
pastor walked up, stood beside the little girl, and said quietly, "Good morning
Cathi."
>"Good morning Pastor," she replied, still
> focused on the plaque. "Pastor, what is this?" she asked.
> The pastor said, "Well, little lady, it's a memorial to all the young men
and women who died in the service."

>Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque. Finally,
little Cathi's voice, barely audible and trembling with fear, asked, "Which
service, the 8:30 or the 10:45?
Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with that expensive
double-pane energy efficient kind, and today, I got a call from the contractor
who installed them. He was complaining that the work had been completed a whole
year ago and I still hadn't paid for them.
Hellloooo, just because I'm blonde doesn't mean that I am automatically
stupid. So, I told him just what his fast talking sales guy had told ME last
year, namely, that in ONE YEAR these windows would pay for themselves!
Hellloooo? It's been a year! (I told him.) There was only silence at the other
end of the line, so I finally just hung up.... He never called back. Guess I
won that stupid argument. I bet he felt like an idiot.
