Hello, This is how I see it, all based on who determines what your "need" is. I am not sure if it is always your doctor, insurance carrier/medicare or what. I can only relate to to my situation. Some think that the scooter will be easier, but not always. If you don't have a lift on your vehicle it's not as easy as having a manual chair which can go into your vehicle easier. A lift is expensive also, and not all vehicles will be able to accommodate one. Sometimes scooters are really not that easy inside, depending on how your home is configured. Our old house wouldn't have worked with a scooter, as the hallways and doorways didn't allow the extra room for manuevering. I could do it much easier with a manual, but my arms have not been affected by TM. Hugs, Barbara A
