Dee wrote in asking about Kaiser insurance. I've had it for over 30 years and am very familiar with the way it works in many different departments. Unfortunately, the doctor's requisition for any Durable Medical Equipment goes to that department and they often make a home visit to assess the need. That's the way it works. I was denied a wheelchair, then appealed to her heart and got it, a manual chair is all I was looking for though. I don't think it would be any different for a scooter. Barbara A
