Hi Regina,

I have tried for a couple of months to make the switch. I am not very
successful. I was taking 5200 mg of Neurontin per day, and my Neuro started
me on
50 mg 1xper day for a week, then 2xper day for another week, then up to
3xper day for another week. After that, after a few weeks, I was to start to
decrease my Neurontin by 400 mg gradually. I got by the first reduction
pretty
well, without much trouble.

I was feeling so wonderful - without the pain, not really any tingling or
burning, no hypersensitivity either late at night. It was great. Then I
tried
lowering it again. Well, that was a problem. I had such pain in my legs.
I did this for 4 days, figuring that my body would adjust, but I was so
miserable and climbing out of my skin. So, my Neuro told me to add it back
in.

I love the mentally clearer feeling with the Lyrica. So, at this time I am
still at the same level, but I think I am actually over-medicated at this
point. I was supposed to try to reduce the Lyrica since I cannot reduce my
Neurontin at this time, and try again another time. So, at this time I feel
better that my Neurontin is down to 4800 mg/day, but I am still at 150mg of
Lyrica. I think that the winter time is also possibly the worst time to try
to do
this.

This is my experience. I do not know if I am having any side effects from
the Lyrica, I don't think so, except I have put on a few pounds. I have also
been sick for about a month and my husband has been in charge of the meals
and he takes the easy way out of it, and I have had very little movement going
on.

Good luck, in my book, it's definately worth the try.

Hugs, Barbara A
