True transverse myelitis results in para or quadra plegia depending on the level of demyelination. I have a very small area of demyelination- C6, right side of spinal cord, size of a small pea- but it results affecting my whole body from my shoulders down. So you have a small lesion affecting an incredibly large area of the body. It's a bit like a gun shot wound- through my hand minimal treatment, through my heart maximum treatment, through my head death! My two cents F
