But, if you both would have a small demyelination, how come one hand
damage
versus whole body damage? Janice

OK, now, Janice.

Let's get to something familiar: A knitting needle !!

I stab your hand- all the way through- with the knitting needle, then pull
it out. The ER doc washes the wound, sutures the wounds, puts in a drain,
puts you on antibiotic and you go home to have your own MD check the hand
in 2 or 3 days.

Now, let's say a gang member drags you into an alley and takes a knitting
needle and pushed it thorough your blouse below your left breast and
angles the needle up toward your RIGHT shoulder. The needles goes through
your spleen, liver, heart, lung and maybe your aorta. BAD NEWS- eight to
12 hour operation. in hospital weeks, major rehab!

Then there is your next door neighbor's kid who makes a crossbow and arrow
(knitting needle) for History class at school. He tries it out, the needle
goes through an open window through your left eyeball, through your brain,
being stopped by the back of your skull. Death?? Maybe, or just turned
into a vegetable state.

So location, location, location makes a big difference. Also caliber of
needle or bullet makes a difference.

I hope that is more illustrative.
