I use a Pride Mobility Quantum 600 with a non-reclining seat and golf- 
cart-like 14 inch drive wheels, three inch casters front and back,   
Chosen to go over the rough lawn of a cemetery.  It does get stuck in  
the rough lawn near the garden where rocks near the surface can trap a  
caster. Controller is five speed. Takes twenty minutes to drive down  
the highway for a mile.  Smashes furniture and walls like a bulldozer,  
so speed three is max in the house.

Very pleased with it.
