We have a mattress that has a four inch foam topper that was added and it is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. When we go on a trip, I really suffer from the mattresses because they are so hard. TMer's can probably relate to that. I do think it is an individual thing, tho. Good luck in finding one that works for you. It is very, very important because a good rest is imperative.
