transverse myelitis
transverse meaning from one side to the other and myelitis meaning inflamation
in the myelin sheith around the spinal chord and nerve fibers.

so anything that makes that breach inflaiming both sides of the spine is what
they call transverse myelitis.

thats what the neurologist and web defs say anyway.

i wonder,,,since transverse means from one side to the other, if theres
inflamation on just one side of the spine is it just called myelitis?

according to some dictionaries it is.

What happens when you have a spinal stroke?     Is it different than getting
struck with TM in the spine?

I believe that a spinal stroke was the source of my problems as well. Dr. Kerr
concurred.

The spinal fluid was clear of leukocytes.
