Nearly all of them will try to make you come in 3 times a week to
start for a couple weeks or months, then 2 times a week for several
more months, then once a week "maintenance". If you are truly "in
touch" with your own body, you know when you need to see a
chiropractor. It got to where when they tried to schedule me for my
next visit, I told them I'd call when I needed to come in again.
I had a friend who I visited while she was studying to become a chiro
-- near spartansburg, sc. She talked about sublaxation and
adjustments-- it all seemed exotic.
Jump cut 12 or so years late, getting in my car on a inclie with a
pebbly drive and I slide and break my fall by holding on to the dooor
handle and pull my arm out its socket. I can't use it to drive and
pop it back in and that's when the pain hits me like a bat. I go to
see the GP who calls in an orthopedic
surgeon who puts my arm in a sling and tells me it will be 6 weeks.
As it's my dominant had ( right )in a sling and I can't use the key
board, I decide to see a chiro.
After my first 45 minute session I can use my hand and my arm is out
the sling. My pain is greatly diminished. She sends me home with
some instructions. I come back to see her twice more. 45
minutes vs 6 weeks. I adored her and remain grateful.
The thing she couldn't fix or assess --- was what turned out to be
the lead up t omy TM and she had sent me to the GP for further
assessment.
