Well, it is my understanding that even if you don't owe a single penny, you
must file.
There are, as I understand, funds for those who file but don't owe..... some
kind of rebates, or whatever they're called (bookkeepers, step in).

And..... if you don't file at all, dem dang revenooers will be a'comin' after
ya. For sure.

John Hmmmm I ll be curious to find out your outcome. I know -for me - my
first year I went to my cpa's office, waiting my turn for my appointment and
after wheeling myself into his fancy office - when called, felt silly when he
said jackie you don't have to be here you didn't earn enough this year ! I kept
asking R U SURE ??? I receive SS disability medicare and disability check from
work ( thank God I had long term disability ins from work which will pay until
age 62) point being.... He said (and my tax papers I get yearly say) they are
medical non taxable. I hope yours will be as mine.
Oh another thing..... that no one told me when I started getting SS ck - (I
found out on my own AFTER 3 years)
Your taxes on your home (if you own ) will be considerably lower since you
are disabled- BUT you have to go to courthouse and get it changed. I was barely
paying for mine -went down more then half!!!!!
  Thanks for all your help

Some of it might be, but because it's disability instead of 'regular' SSA as
I now get,
  maybe not.

You'll need to go to www.irs.gov and search for 1040 instructions. You
might hafta file a Schedule M, whether you owe or not.

to anyone receiving disabled social security monies.

I received a letter today stating that I will receive my first check
May 11th.

signed up for it on Nov 5th.

          wont get any retro pay.

          is this money taxed?
