Hi Roger,
There's nothing stopping you from using tmux through mosh, this is how I
use it every day for work.
Also, the packages for tmux included with RHEL/CentOS are notoriously
outdated. I maintain a repository of the latest tmux release which you can
use to stay up-to-date if you wish:
