Can someone explain what changes are included in the web5250?
Will this require interactive?
I was using TN5250J (which is a great product), but unfortunately we bought a new i5 with out any interactive. Now we are using a emulator translator and web facing. Both have their draw backs and do not function nearly as well as TN5250J.
If web5250 does not require interactive I will be able to help test the product, just let me know how to start.
Thanks, Lance

Has anybody tested the last changes to the web5250 interface?
Pete was working on getting key presses to work correctly in IE.
Any testers out there willing to give a little time for this?
Regards
Kenneth

September was the last *real* activity I can remember him responding to. Nothing since.
Hope everything is OK with him.

If you make general enhancements to the code, you must include the source for those enhancements as well and distribute them under the same licensing arrangements. Note that Linux is distributed under the GPL so you can see that "commercial" GPL licensed code distribution is common. If you already have a commercial app, and want to add tn5250j, probably the most simple way to do it is a a free download or a separate CD and license so you maintain the distinction between what you license for a fee and what you have as free. Should you add proprietary extensions, not based on existing source, you can charge for those features and license them however you want. However the base tn5250j must remain free and licensed under the GPL. There are folks who know a whole lot more about this than I do. I don't know if there are commercial licensee's on this list or not. We are a commercial software developer, but we charge only for support, we give all of our software away for free (under various licenses, including the GPL). You can always Google for more on the GPL. There is a lot out there. Hope this is helpful. I have mailed Kenneth and also asked this question in the Support Requests forum whitout any response. Have any of you used it a commercial application and what are the license terms? /Brian Skaarup ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
