Kenneth, Mostly, the forward delete key is the key which deletes character on and to the right of the cursor position. All people I know use the backspace key as a 'normal' delete key. For backspaces we have the arrow keys nowadays. And yes, I am talking about the backspace key, not the arrow keys.
