Hi Martin,

the showpoint/noshowpoint controls whether to show the decimal point. It looks 
like you mixed it with thousands separator. In german local this is actually 
a point, but the showpoint/noshowpoint does not change their meaning 
depending on the locale.

I actually don't know, if it can be switched off at all in iostreams.

You may help yourself by using sprintf or a similar function and print the 
string to the output stream.

By the way: the stream used for formatting is returned with "reply.sout()". 
This is a outputstream wich does automatic html-encoding and pass the output 
to "reply.out()".
