Ok, thanks for the information. For one time use, this sounds like 
overkill, but if it becomes a habit I agree.

For now, I just put the Code::Blocks howto here, it includes the 
markdown text plus several linked screenshots.

Perhaps one of you could pick it up and put it in the right place? You 
then have the chance to review it at the same time.

I did run it through the markdown program on Kubuntu to see that the 
generated HTML seemed at least plausible.

I didn't forget. It was the push that was needed.
