Thank you Tommi,

I have just made a much simpler "Hello World!" type Tntnet application 
and compiled it under Raspbian.

I am now able to run that on the Raspberry PI and get a connection from 
a local browser at http://localhost:8000/ and also from a Windows 
desktop using the IP-address of the Raspberry PI.

So everything is fine. Tntnet works on the PI and there isn't anything 
special about firewalls causing problems. I will have to check my own 
things better.
