I mistakenly sent this offline to Mr. Shupp, and he corrected me about sending it to the list. I have a follow up question at the bottom if anyone would care to assist?
--original post-- I do have a question that I would appreciate your time in considering for me, however. I've searched the archive and looked everywhere and can't find the answer, though I'm sure it must be quite simple. I've installed all the components of the Toaster, and everything works fine if I set up virtual domains with virtual users, but I'm trying to get it to use the machine's /etc/passwd file because this is an upgrade. We're using Maildir for mail reception. I can't figure out how to get the Toaster to acknowledge the /etc/passwd users! Response: configure vpopmail with --enable-passwd=y. This is ONLY for vchkpw, so you'll have to run the pop server as root. If you want imap auth from /etc/passwd as well, you will need to enable authpam in the AUTHMODULES directive of /usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/imapd. You should also run imap as root if you're going to do this. -- end original post-- Follow up question: I'm not concerned with IMAP (thank goodness), just POP and hopefully web-enabled access. When you say "configure", what is the procedure and syntax? Just re-run .configure with that option? Will that overwrite previous options? Do I need to do anything in advance of that, i.e. will it mess anything up? Again, thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can provide.
