I agree with the sentiment that meetings should be pre-planned and should go
on as scheduled.

  - No voting, no opinions.
  - Since it has been set that the meeting would happen on the 1st
sunday of the month, just let it be.
  - Stick to the timing that is already fixed, 10:30 AM. Also fix the
duration of the meeting and adhere to it.
  - Let us keep the venue also fixed, instead of looking for parks etc.
In my opinion Ameerpet is a central location, which should be reasonably
convenient to all. If Vani can come from Dilsukhnagar to attend the meeting,
I do not see a reason for anyone else not to.
  - If people want to visit parks etc as part of this group, that can be
done, but should be separate from the meeting. Probably would be helpful to
have such visits to help increase personal connection between people.
  - Meeting notice should be set as a calendar appointment. No follow up
calls should be required since the date and time are already known.
  - Let members who cannot attend, respond and indicate as such. No
reasons need be given. Just think how you would feel if you invited 20 or
more people to your house for any event and no one responds.
  - Monthly meeting purpose should be focused to review the activities
of the group and plan for the future.
  - Set the agenda a week ahead and leave sometime for discussions on
any other business or AOB as we call it.Assign specific time to each
point on the agenda and stick to it.
  - Decisions made in the meetings should be adhered to. There should
not be extended discussions through e-mail or futher voting required.
  - Publish the minutes of the meeting.
  - Give importance to feedback from people who have attended previous
meetings, but could not attend this time due to personal constraints.
  - If you want to voice your opinion, come to meetings - that should be
  the message to all members.
  - The seriousness of the group can be reflected only by the
seriousness that we give to the meetings.
  - I feel that there is no need for two rounds of introduction in the
meeting. Those who come late miss out and can take time after the meeting to
get to know others. People who have come on time should not be punished for
  other's laziness.
  - All in all, we would benefit immensely by treating this as a project
  and working accordingly.

In conclusion, as others have pointed out, we need to have discipline,
whether it is meetings on any other activities, to progress as a group. Else
we will always remain as a bunch of individual contributors.

Cheers
Suresh Adina
