When I mentioned thank you cards originally, I was thinking of having some
simple ones printed at a press. The problem with buying cards from other
organisations, is that usually, these are expensive, mainly becos they aim
at raising money for some cause in general. I mostly use only these kind of
cards which come with a plain sheet inside, and write down my own message. I
have never found them cheaper atleast.

But, who knows, we can always do some research and look around.

Good idea. Serves both ends.

Some others that print these kind of cards I know of are govt funded small
scale industries.

  Hi,

The idea is fine, and what Prasanthi said was also reasonable as I might
look at spending the effort for some cause rather getting some token for my
kindness if i donate somewhere.

But I felt we can achieve both the things in the following manner. Some
organisations like Cry, which are not popular publish cards, which can be
used as greeting cards and there is place for messages to be written. so if
we can approach such organisations if they print as well we can ask them to
print otherwise we can write down the message. Every month lets say there
are 10 volunteers coming for the meeting they will take 20 cards write the
messages and get back them.

This way we will be actually helping some organisation and also have our
thank you cards.

When we had thalessemia sample collection at my office (YASU), while
giving the test results, Vani wrote a page having a Thanks note, then about
Thalessemia and about TMAD. If we had given a printout I dont know how many
would have read it, but I was sure that most of them read the note.

So lets give it a try in this direction, have to search for organisations
which publish cards, I am not looking at CRY because it is highly
recognised, but there are many such organisations which dont get noticed,
lets find them and approach.

Cheers
Chaitanya
