Actually myself and Jairam decided to distribute them. But, as Jairam went
to UK yesterday, I called up Ravi Shankar and he agreed to come this morning. I
already informed the teacher that we are going to distribute today and I told
him to inform the students. Even though we were ready to distribute on time, we
were struck up with heavy rain. Even some of the students couldn't turn-up. We
finally distributed 29 pairs of slippers out of 76. Head master of that school
is more impressed upon our activities. He also helped us in distributing them.
I requested him to call up all the students tomorrow and distribute the
remaining. So, we may not require to go there tomorrow.But, some pairs may
remain by tomorrow for the exchange purpose. HM will let us know about that and
some one may have to come along with me or Srinivas to Afzalgung to get them
exchanged by tomorrow itself, so that we'll close SDP by this Saturday (Monday
is their last working day).
Complications in SDP:
Initially when we bought slippers, Jairam and Srinivas took them and kept
in jairam's Appt, and it was very tough time for them to carry such a heavy
baggage on their two wheeler. We too had a similar experience when myself and
Murali had to bring that back to Mehdipatnam on two-wheeler yesterday.
As we didn't have much time and we adopted this methodology. I think this
is not the right way. In case of SDP, we may have to follow this procedure: As
we got the list of the needy students, we should enquire shop keepers who can
provide a helper boy to take measurements, fix a date for distribution
depending on the full attendance of the students (we need to inform the teacher
earlier to tell students to be present on that day) and we should inform shop
keeper to deliver them on that fixed date to the corresponding school.
Volunteers may to be present there at the time of taking measurements and at
the time of distribution. I think this will finish with in 2 week-ends.
