Hai Team, I have been thinking about hospitals since I visited the child hospital in Egmore for Nagoor,the one whom we could not help. That was a govt hospital and at first I felt it's a very good one as the kid was kept in ICU for several days and I got the impression that the doctors were taking care of the kid and I also went to the extent of thinking that" Group is un-necessarily spending thousands or more by sending kids to private hospitals". But when I heard the news that nagoor expired I was shocked. That day I started seeing the untidy environment and the harsh responses the nurses gave me and the kid's parents. May be they never took proper care or the care they have taken is not efficient. May be they r not interested or they don't have enough resources(money or people).
Anyways after that I again changed my mind that private hospitals may be expensive but still if they give the life back, that's fine. Yesterday I happened to visit another cute girl mounica in kanchi kamakothi child trust hospital nungambakkam Chennai yesterday. The hospital is very neat with marbles and nice portraits and pictures for kids to enjoy the stay there(!!!!). My first impression was again the hospital is good J. But as I spoke with the parents, I knew that the main doctors come as consultants only for few hours and they cannot spare more than few mins with each of the kids/parents which is very bad. After that found from my frds that most of the corporate hospitals are like that…. Veryyyyy bad. Anyways I will come to the point now. Mounica is brought from nellore to Chennai fifteen days back with severe fever. She is a three year old kid. After several tests they found that she has some blockage in the brain which can be treated with medicines. And it slowly gets cured with medicines. So now the task is to get rid of the fever she is getting. But after that they are still diagnosing what the problem is. Many tests/scans but till now found nothing. They are saying within a week or ten days she will be alright. Already they have charged them more than 60,000 and at the least 20 to 30 thousands more is required.Now they are not in a position to spend more and asked the doctors there to allow them to goto Egmore govt hospital. But the doctors are advising them to stay for ten more days. So if we can help them in some way, I wish and guess she would be alright. The kid is so cute and I felt very bad seeing her lying on the bed. When I entered there she was afraid of me(it seems she presumes anyone who comes to be a doctor and doctors come only to give injections). I took lot of time patiently to be with her and made her trust me and finally she said tata and asked me to come again. J I expected the hosp to be kanchi kama kothi swamiji's and will be free or of less cost but they r charging 200 per bed(not room only hall) 200 per consultation and 200 for nurses per day….I felt its too much. May be this is inexpensive compared to corporate hosp….I don't know….I am scared personally.I wished my daughter to be healthy always and never needs to be taken there. J Now its the group to respond. The parents are genuine and they dint even ask/expect me to give some money. They only thought I went there to spend some time and give moral support. They asked if I wud take some milk tea or coffee too J ArunK
