*1.* *Mehdipatnam School Activities - *Update / Further plans - 11:00 - 11:30 AM Vani updated about the Navodaya policy of not including Hyderabad kids into JNVs. We also discussed about the option of KVs for the 5th class students. But then we were skeptical about individual attention to these kids from the teachers. Hence didn't discuss about it futher. Then we tried to think about other government schools in M'patnam and the possibility of checking which ones would be better for the kids completing 5th class. Also, education team has to check the procedure to join them into AP residential society schools (government led residential schools). *Action Items:* Check with the nearby Govt. Secondary Schools in Mehdipatnam and advise appropriately to the kids. Check the procedure of admission into Govt led AP Residential Society Schools. *Volunteer: *Vani *2.* *Bhatti Band / Hyderabad Unplug* 11:30 - 11:35 AM Since the concerned meeting was post lunch, this was not discussed and an update would be given by Raghavendra on this. *Volunteers: *Raghavendra, Madhukar, Vani *3.* *Visiting Organisations *- Decision on this month's targets 11:35 - The idea of this is to visit an organisation per month about 2-3 times and prepare a project report about the organisation, which can be circulated / published. The details should contain the current state of the organisation, how it is run and current finances and their requirements like - how do they maintain? - what is the procedure of enrolling a person into their org? - what are needed? - identify where do we fit in? - interact with the inmates and understand about the org. - can we distribute clothes over there? For this month some of our members have visited an Old Age Home in Langar House, so thought to take this organisation for this month and make a report on the same. Bala Sreenivas gaaru said that we can get the list of govt. based orphanges and old homes from GHMC site. We need to check it out and update the details to the group, so that we can plan visits accordingly. ** *Volunteers: *Chaitanya, Dr.Bala Sreenivas *4.* *Project Niloufer* - Decide on Team & plan activities Bala Sreenivas gaaru and Kasyap said that there are many problems that stay along with the kids in the hospital. Few of them are no facility for hot water, no proper cleaning of water coolers, lack of equipment, etc. So to find out in what way we can contribute for better facilities, we decided to meet the super-intendent and also the doctors association of Niloufer. We plan to visit the hospital on 19th Jan. Also, it was decided that we will not take up any individual medical cases in Hyderabad for sometime as we want to concentrate on Project Niloufer and when we have more volunteers then we can cater to individual cases. ** *Volunteers: *Dr.Bala Sreenivas, Chaitanya, Kasyap, Raghavendra, Harinath ** *5. Like Minded Groups* - Update & Action Items The BOSF concept is getting a good response from other groups and most of them are willing to share the information and coordinate in each others efforts for a better society. The individual teams based on the work will start meeting after 15th and start the coordination efforts. Prasanthi explained that under BOSF, we do not do any activities as such but we would know more about how other teams work in that area.Eg. Education. How other teams handle the cases and various schools that are in dire need of people to teach them. Exchange of information is the prime criterion and if required will help each others major activities. ** *Volunteer:* Prasanthi *6. Bank Opening & Income Tax Rebate Apllication Status* In the bye-laws for registration we mentioned that we would open an account in a nationalised bank. So there is a delay in resolving this clause and ICICI bank's agent is saying that a resolution will not help where as a resolution is normally used to make changes/add in the bye-laws. This needs to be clarified with the bank's management and will be done by Sarat and Vishwanath. If ICICI bank does not accept resolution, then we might have to make changes in the bye-laws and resubmit them to the registrar of societies or check if we can go for SBI bank. *Volunteer: *Sarat, Viswanath. *7. Logo* This was one discussion where the team members enjoyed a lot. We had our creative ideas flying across. We finally mixed Kasyap's and Chaitanya's logo into one and created a new one (grin). Miscellaneous Items* Papa Rao gaaru called Harinath and the update about the same is Papa Rao gaaru didn't get the reimbursement of money. He want us to check out with ESI. He also shared the identification number so that we can keep a track of the case. We need to define responsibilities of a volunteer to make sure that there are dedicated members for each of the activities that we take up. Otherwise managing is becoming difficult. So if the volunteers can take the responsibilities for the activities mentioned above or for any other do mail to the group so that we can distribute the work in a better way. Regards, Chaitanya.
