Thanks for the detailed mail, Vani.

Friends,

This is referred to us by Sudha, who helped us in Paparao case. Swapna
is working in Verizon and is a colleague to Sudha. This was brought to
my notice long back.

These are the details:
================================================
>From Swapna.
   My mom is diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia/Hypoplastic MDS, a rare
disease where the bone marrow fails to function at CMC ( Christian
Medical College), Vellore.

The available treatment options are :

1) Bone Marrow Transplantation: This costs around 10-15 lakhs and the
response rate is around 60%.

2) ATS : This costs around 6 lakhs and a minimum hospitalisation
period of 2 months. The response rate is around 40%.

3) Cyclosporine : This drug costs around rs 10000- 12000 per month.
The minimum trail period is 3 months.

   Given the limited finances we are right now going with the third
option. She also needs blood transfusion every fortnight. That costs
2k a month.
 Please help me out in meeting the treatment expenditures. Thanks a
ton for ur support.

Regards,
Swapna Sagi
================================================

I mailed to Dr. Suman Jain and she adviced to meet Dr. Sailesh Singhi.

This is the reply I got from Dr. Suman Jain.
==================================================
I am sorry to hear this news. She got correct information about her
treatment at CMC vellore.
You can refer them to hematology foundation.
I personally feel let them first come and meet Dr shailesh singi at
ushodaya hospital wiith prior appointment. I think he is available
during morning time (9-11 am).He is an adult hematologist.
==================================================

Sudha met Dr. Sailesh Singhi with the reports of Swapna's mother
(Swapna was in Vizag that time as her mother got serious). Dr. Sailesh
Singhi is hopeful of the improvement in patient's condition.

I explained the case to Dr. Sundar as Swapna's mother stays in Vizag.
He showed interest to help. Swapna's mother is also taking Ayurveda
medicines. Don't know if Swapna contacted him or not.

The sad part is that no one comes forward to help her saying that she
is working in an MNC.

Let us discuss this case through mails and finalize on our monthly
meeting day.

Thank you.

with regards,
Prasanthi.
