Hi Karthik,

Good question raised....
I cannot wait to reply back before Prasanthi does :D

I will take up the forum point first, compare it with website and then with
our yahoo group respectively, in the following points.

1. Forum is in a way good for people to raise their questions.. Seeing the
website, they might get questions but cannot find answers in FAQs, most of
the time. From the group mails, they will just drown into the mails and can
not make head of tail atleast in the first few visits. Someone needs to
guide them when it comes to a new person checking the mails.

2. One of the forum rules is - discuss one point at a time, within the
topic. Website, can provide this information to some extent but as mentioned
above, cannot answer their doubts. Group mails, they might take some time to
figure out which mail they really want to look into.

3. Forum is sorted. I can jump directly into Education (Main Topic) and
check for dicussions in Project Library. With Website, to some extent, yes..
we can know there is something called Project Library and the recent
updates. Group Mails - Forget it.. we didn't discuss about Project Library
in past 6 months.

4. Forum will show the discussions of people. website doesn't. Group Mails -
Gmail is needed to tag the mails (from the time of their presence into
group) but if they are browsing through the yahoo group, the person will be
in a total mess. Have to check the subject line.. and then get into
searching with that subject line..

I do not know if I made any sense - Please feel free to throw back any
object that u want to, at me.. if you are not convinced (make sure it
doesn't hit your computer screen)

Regards,
Vani.
