Hi Bangalore TMAD members, May I know the disease of the patient by name Pallavi as you mentioned,as some phrma companies wil give donations to certain diseases under promotion of their brands.Though in India, less diseases and less programmes are done in this regard(patient benefit programmes),we can check whether the disease has such a programme or not.For example maxaid foundation sponsers Glevec medicine for chronic myeloid leukemia(one type of blood cancer in adults) and Natco an indian based pharma company also with doctors reference will give the other generic drug but works for the same cause.Some times some patient support groups are there for one type of disease and you will have the benefit of getting the drugs at reduced costs when you purchased the drug.I found the organization in search when one patient 12 yr kid comes to me with childhood blood cancer,I referred it to my friend Revati,she gone there to their office and she has been informed that they wont produce medicines to kids but we can refer to adults and they give medical donations to certain adult blood cancers if we can approach through doctors reference or hospital case sheet.Infact,they have donated Rs.10,000 rupees to the kid we have approached them instead as financial contribution.
Please mention the exact diagnosis available on the investigations page under diagnostic impression title preferably.Because certain brands or generic drugs are only for few diseases.So even the diseases that affect the same organ but with a different disease,we may not get the benefit.So please mention the disease exact if that is known through investigative procedure reports.If that is going to be matched,then it will be fine.Or else we may have to approach general foundations or medical foundations working on a broader basis.
