There has been a relapse of Cancer Cells found in my mother’s blood when a monthly check up was done on 13th July 2010. So, it is now clear that the Chemotherapy cannot solve the problem and the option we have is to go for Bone Marrow Transplantation. *Facts of the case:* My mother (Mrs. Sri Lakshmi Aluru) was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in DEC-09. She had undergone Chemotherapy from DEC-09 to MAY-10 in Manipal Hospitals, Vijayawada. Dr. *G Krishna Reddy* is the concerned doctor who dealt with this. We have spent 12 lakhs for this painful Chemotherapy and upon its successful completion, thought that we are out of danger. Unfortunately, during the monthly check up after Chemotherapy done on 13thJuly 2010, there has been a relapse found in the Cancer cells. The doctor suggested going for Bone marrow Transplantation at CMC Hospitals Vellore (Tamil Nadu), it being the only option before us now to fight against this deadly disease. We approached Dr. *Biju George* (Professor, Department of Haematology CMC Vellore) who confirmed the relapse after performing all the relevant tests. Condition being serious, we got the admission into the Hospital immediately on 23rd July, 2010. *Further Treatment:* The treatment here on is going to be in 2 phases for 6 to 7 months. *Phase 1*: Relapse Chemotherapy (1 or 2 cycles) – to bring the Cancer cells to complete remission *Phase 2:* Allogeneic Bone marrow transplantation *Estimated Further Treatment costs:* *Phase 1:* INR 8 to 10 Lakhs (depending upon complications) *Phase 2:* INR 20 to 50 Lakhs (depending upon complications) Over all estimated cost is *INR 30 to 60 Lakhs* *Present condition:* Phase 1 treatment started on 26th July 2010. *Attachments:* Patient Number Card - CMC Vellore Cost estimate letter *for Phase 1* from Dr. *Biju George,* CMC Vellore I am currently trying to mobilize funds personally and through all possible contacts/agencies.
