As a Linux user I would be more than happy to see this happen. RPM is a
great tool that makes installing and maintaining a linux box very easy.
My +1 on that, my only wish/concern is related with the locations of the
files ( I have a very strong preference to /opt - it allows multiple
versions of the same program, etc )

What is the .tar.gz and where do you plan to include it ? ( in tomcat3
there are already .spec files in jakarta-tomcat/src/build ( and also
.pkginfo ) )
