FWIW, if at first you don't succeed in getting a reply, repost your 
patch.  

I typically wait about a week in between submissions.  

After about the third week, I usually drop the patch if no one has
responded.  =)  

And, please don't take non-responsiveness personally.  It is probably
more the case that the people with commit access don't believe that your
problem is worth fixing.  You'll need to make a convincing argument to
stop them from hitting the "delete" key when reading the message.
