 Hold on. It sounds like you think I'm saying you
didn't do your homework. I'm not saying you don't
know this stuff, I'm saying that there aren't pointers
to this work in the proposal.

 What I'm definitely not doing it taking your word
for it. I don't even take my own word for stuff
like this, so it has nothing to do with you
personally.

 ab really isn't sufficent for what I'm taking about,
though. It produces extremely skewed results. It's
something of a blunt instrument.

 How about this for a concrete suggestion: Add "come
up with a set of benchmarks and performance goals" as
part of the proposal. (And yes, I'm volunteering to
help)

 Part time over the course of about 4 weeks. I was
investigating how much of a performance improvement
I could get out of using the NIO api's for serving
static files, and part of that was comparing against
the performance of other servers written in Java.
That was pre-Coyote, though.
