building mod_jk

Hi, i am having a problem building mod_jk provided with the "jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1-src" distribution   When i use the command "make --makefile=Makefile.linux" i get an error of the sort    "../jk/jk_jni_worker.c :67:jni.h no such file or directory"   followed by warnings and then next to these  warnings is text saying    "no java 2 headers! support for java 2 features disabled."   What does this all mean and can someone help me out.   thanks in advance
