Tomcat on linux without X

Is this possible?
I've installed an old P60 with 420Mb HD with Linux. Obviously I do not want
to install the entire X Windows system on this box as it simply is to large.
But now I'm trying to run tomcat and it complains about some kind of X
module. Do I need to install X in order to run java/tomcat applications?
