Hi, The word is regression. This is a regression defect because this was working before and a change (optimization) introduced the defect.
We sometimes add a test for it and sometimes not. This issue is a bit of a pain to test because it requires a client or at least a fake client (e.g. MockObjects). Of course, no one likes to spend time writing tests, so if anyone out there wants to write and contribute tests, we'll be excited to accept them.
