No you should downlod apache2.1 source code.
proxy_ajp is the part of httpd not tomcat connectors.
But it's a work in progress (as well as apache2.1 is),
so you'll have to use either cvs or snapshot from
http://cvs.apache.org/snapshots/httpd-2.0/
